EMMANUEL COMMUNITY SYDNEY

ABOUT US

"AND THEY SHALL NAME HIM EMMANUEL"

The Emmanuel Community was born out of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in 1972. It started with a prayer meeting in Paris with Pierre Goursat and Martine Laffitte-Catta and grew quickly in France and around the world. In 1992, the Holy See recognised that the Emmanuel Community acts for the common good of the whole Catholic Church. As a Public Association of the Faithful, it brings together priests, consecrated men and women, families and single people who testify to the ecclesiology of communion encouraged by the Second Vatican Council. In 2017, this call to live the complementarity of the states of life for the new evangelisation led the Congregation for the Clergy to erect the Clerical Association of the Emmanuel Community (gathering priests and deacons). It is indissolubly linked to the Association of Faithful.

EMMANUEL

MUSIC

Songs of praise, celebration and worship to pray and meet God through music.

"Life is a journey, along different roads, different paths, which leave their mark on us. We know in faith that Jesus seeks us out"

The Emmanuel Community's vocation is to bear witness to God's presence in the world, his closeness and his love for each person.

It brings together lay people (married, single, consecrated in celibacy) and priests, who live in the heart of the world and put themselves together at the service of the mission of the Catholic Church through adoration, compassion and evangelisation.

OUR MISSIONS

In order to announce the good news of God's presence by adapting to the needs of the world, the Emmanuel Community has developed many proposals for couples and families, children, adolescents, young people, those who want to bear witness in professional life or serve the poor.
